Backstage Santana Row Summer Soiree

Ever wondered what it's like backstage at a fashion show? It's pretty chaotic. Everyone is rushing to dress the models in the next outfit, sometimes using pins and  double stick tape to alter the fit. I've heard stories of models that  expect to be treated like a goddess but luckily I have always been paired up with models that are pretty nice. All the models were about 5'10" + 5 inch heals. I have never felt so puny in my life. Every time I needed to fix their hair or button a shirt that's above their waist, they had to bend down so I could reach. I should bring a small step ladder next time. Haha.

The show was located at beautiful the Santana Heights in Santana Row.

Who knew this is what was sitting on top of the parking garage!? There are attached single homes with garages.

I had the pleasure of working with Danielle (model on the left wearing black and white) and Maya for the show.

And the best part of the show was..... the crew!

Know Beauty

Photography is a new hobby of mine. It's frustrating when I am not able to get the right settings but it is also very exciting when I get it right. Photography is like a complicated math equation. Correct settings + composition + lighting = beautiful photo. Over the weekend, I took Waggly to Fort Funston and I brought my camera with me. At one point, I was kneeling awkwardly on the ground trying to get a particular shot and I didn't realize there was an older man standing behind me patiently waiting to cross the path.

He started talking to me, "Do you know what makes a great photograph?" He pointed at the sky and told me that on certain days, the clouds move in closer which would cause the light to hit the trees with a blue tint, creating a beautiful glow. He then pointed at a tree (there are tons of trees there) and asked if I saw the blue tint. I didn't know which tree he was pointing at nor did I see any blue tints but I nodded anyways. He continued talking about the perfect picture and 5 minutes into it, I was intimidated by his knowledge and felt the need to tell him that I'm new to photography. He looked at me and said "I don't know anything about photography but I know what's beautiful".

Peace in Wine Country

I'm not a wine drinker but I enjoy visiting Napa. During the drive, I cleared my thoughts and just admired the scenery.

Here is a themeboard I made of Napa a while back.

This was put together about 2 years ago. The colors on the board are perfect for a spring collection! I'm glad I took it out today, now I'm thinking about creating a clothing collection based on these colors.
